Dixon Reflect On New Album

The popular Ma /Gaisa and R&B artist Dixon Nasou who has managed to melt the hearts of a multitude of ladies with the creative lyrics in his songs dropped a 15-track album titled Show Me Your Heart. The album is currently available countrywide and of its singles has recently been featured on Trace Africa.

“I am so thrilled and humbled at the same time that Trace Africa accepted an authentic Namibian genre of music, it really means a lot to me, my fans and our culture. Thank you, Trace Africa, for welcoming our local genre, it will encourage more Namibian artists to be themselves and do music that is more rooted. This might also change the mindset of Namibians.”

The R&B artist who last released an album in 2016 says he took time off to live and experience life so that he could have more things to write about. “I want my fans to listen to this album from the first track to the last track without skipping a song. I really don’t want to talk too much about this album because I want the music to do the talking. All I can say is that it took a good three years to perfect this album.” Surprisingly, the musician has taken a different approach this time around by not featuring any artist on his new album.

Dixon also spoke as to why he did not work with anyone on the album saying he wanted to tell his story the way it is on the 15 track album. “I wanted to show my fans my work, my effort and that is why I did not feature anyone,” he said.

The singer says the album will take his music fans back to a time when Namibian music was raw and authentic. “My aim is to keep it as authentic as I can until my music hits the right ears without me having to change to fit in.” He also said that 80% of the album is up-tempo because he wants his fans to “saka” low on this one. He dedicates this project to his day one fans, saying that they are his strength.

The artist says his favorite song on the album is “Pamwe” because it is the song with the strongest message on the album. It is an HIV/Aids campaign song that teaches on Namibians working together towards a common goal. “I did this song also in three languages that are; English, Damara/Nama, and Oshiwambo to ensure the message is well translated.”

The artist also mentioned that he is currently busy putting together something nice for his boys Ngoma Drums. “They are the new wave that Namibia is yet to feel and respect.” Dixon is one of the best singers to emerge from Katutura – one who has established a strong fan base for himself over the years. The artist urges all his fans to keep a good eye on all his social media platforms as there are more surprises coming their way.
